Is she ready for potty training?

OK, no getting into arguments about whether it's training or learning. The end result is the same - she no longer needs nappies! Yaaaaaayyyyyy... um, getting ahead of myself here...

Cassia is almost 20 months and let me assure everyone who thinks I'm one of those high-powered mamas who wants to fast-track her kids through life, I had no expectations that she would be ready for potty training any time soon. However, she seems to be showing some signs. Well, I don't really know to be honest. What would you make of this?

She knows what wee and poo are.
She knows when she's done a wee or a poo.
She knows when she is in the middle of a poo.
She asks for nappy changes when she's finished her poo or is very wet.
She rarely wees on the floor during nappy-free time.
She often asks for a nappy after a decent amount of nappy-free time.
She likes to sit on her potty.
She associates the potty with wee and poo.

On the other hand...
When she does wee on the floor during nappy-free time, there's no warning and she gets quite distressed about it.
She likes to pick up and carry her potty around and occasionally drops toys in it.
She has never actually used the potty for its intended purpose, whether intentionally or not.
Even though she asks for a nappy after going bare-bummed for a while, I don't know how long it takes for her to do a wee once it's on.
She likes following me into the loo (did I ever mention that motherhood is glamorous?), and I give her a running commentary on what I'm doing in there (yep, reeeeeaaallllly glamorous), but she really has no idea what's going on.

Comments welcome and encouraged (constructive ones, that is -- just for any weirdos who've stumbled across this blog for the first time). Thank you!

That's neat! I'd get started. :) Sunshine follows me into the loo too... but got upset when I tried sitting her on it. Right now, the trick is to keep her from dropping anything INTO it. :)

Sounds all good to me! Just keep following her lead. If she does get upset about an accident just reassure it is ok and she is still learning.
